Cleveland Cavaliers: A master list of buyout targets for the Cavaliers
Option No. 6: Ersan Ilyasova
As many fans know, Kevin Love is out until mid-March or early April. He fractured his left hand against the Pistons in late January. While not near the all-star that Love is, Ersan Ilyasova does have the ability to stretch the floor and could help replace him until Love returns.
The Cavs, who thrive of shooting, will need that floor spacing moving forward. Even if Love returns, a combination of both Love and Ilyasova could provide a big, yet versatile, lineup to match up with other big lineups this postseason.
Ilyasova is hovering around his career-averaging from behind the arc this season. He averages 1.3 triples per game and shoots 36.6% on such shots. Ersan has been a key offensive weapon for the Hawks this season, recording nine games of 20 or more points.
Ilyasova is on a one-year, $6 million contract. For Atlanta, their future might be on their team, but it certainly is still untapped. They have John Collins, who should record most of the center minutes, and Dewayne Dedmon, who should get any other remaining minutes.
Atlanta already bought out Marco Belinelli and is looking to give their young players more minutes. Ilyasova, who is 30-years-old and could leave following this season, should be a buyout candidate in the near future.
