Cleveland Cavaliers: Lessons from the Cavs dominant victory over Boston
The Cleveland Cavaliers ran the Boston Celtics off their home floor on Paul Pierce’s jersey retirement night with a 121-99 win.
The four new Cleveland Cavaliers additions played a big part in the runaway victory.
The final numbers don’t show just how dominant LeBron James was. He controlled every facet of the game in the 28 minutes he played. James finished off the afternoon with 24 points, 10 assists, eight boards, a steal, and a block. He also ended the game as a team-high plus 23.
The newcomers all played exceptionally well and appeared to fit in quite nicely.
Jordan Clarkson made the biggest splash scoring 17 points on seven of 11 shooting. George Hill showed just how nicely his game fits in with LeBron’s as he finished with 12 points of his own. Rodney Hood put up 14 points on three of six shooting from deep. Larry Nance Jr. showed off his athleticism with five points and four blocks.
Koby Altman’s team played better than he could’ve possibly imagined. It’s only been one game, but it appears he made the perfect moves for this team. Here’s what we learned from the blowout victory.
