Toxicity in Cavs locker room overblown
There’s love for Kevin Love
If you really think about it, there are obviously guys who are still supporting Kevin Love on the team. Don’t let the infamous team meeting distract you from the fact that those teammates are still there.
Friend Channing Frye; longtime teammates LeBron James and Tristan Thompson; stoic veterans like Dwyane Wade and Kyle Korver; “Just happy to be here” guys like rookie Cedi Osman and former MVP Derrick Rose.
Even Isaiah Thomas, who has been one of Love’s friends since childhood. Even Jeff Green, who the cameras caught being momentarily miffed by Love throwing his just-worn warmups on head during the game.
Could Green have been one of the player’s, like Thomas, who questioned Love’s whereabouts last weekend? Yes. Could that have drawn a passive aggressive response from Love? Yes.
Especially playing on a team with James, the NBA’s king of petty and passive aggressive behavior.
However, just like the situation with Thomas, who isn’t in any type of rivalry with his friend in Love, the Green situation was overblown. Watch long enough and Green cracks a smile at the end of the video. He sarcastically mocks the social media reaction postgame by making a wise crack with Love about the moment, which Love joined in.
By the way, Thomas smiled when Love “passive aggressively” or perhaps just playfully, handed a rebound to Thomas like a child.
