Cleveland Cavaliers win second straight: Lessons from Cavs 17-point victory
The Cleveland Cavaliers are becoming fun again. The Cavs were able to close out the Detroit Pistons with a 121-104 win.
Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James led the way with 9 points and 5 assists in the fourth quarter. He finished the game with 25 points, 14 assists, 8 boards and a steal. Kevin Love also had a strong outing putting up 20 points on 4-of-6 shooting from deep and 11 boards.
Coach Tyronn Lue’s recent lineup adjustment continues to work out for everyone. The starters played well together posting a net rating of 35.2. Besides that, J.R .Smith continued his hot shooting by draining four triples on the night. Jae Crowder also provided a spark plug off the bench posting 12 points and a block while playing a role he is much more familiar with.
The Cavs won the game with stingy fourth quarter defense. They posted a defensive rating of 71.2 during the final frame while holding the Pistons to just 17 points on 29.2% shooting from the field.
The Pistons are going through a rough stretch right now but that doesn’t take away from what the Cavs did. This was the Cavs most complete game in weeks.
