The Cleveland Cavaliers could be looking to make a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Cleveland Cavaliers have engages in trade discussions with the Los Angeles Lakers (h/t ESPN Cleveland’s Jordan Zirm).

The Lakers are an interesting trade partner given the rumors that LeBron James will leave the Cavs to join one of the league’s two most historic franchises in the summer. Fueling the rumors are James’ properties in the area and media ventures. That Magic Johnson, a player James has been compared to throughout his career, is the President of Basketball Operations doesn’t hurt.

Nor does the young talent the Lakers have amassed in players like Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball and Julius Randle.

While it’s natural to wonder if the Lakers and Cavs discussed a potential sign-and-trade involving James down the road, the Cavs have been invested in keeping James in the Land for as long as possible since his return in 2014. What’s far more likely is the Cavs have their eye on one, or more, or the Lakers players.

But who?
