Cleveland Cavaliers: What we learned from LeBron’s 30,000 point night
The Cleveland Cavaliers got ran off the floor again Tuesday night.
This time it was at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs. With the 114-102 loss in San Antonio, the Cleveland Cavaliers have now dropped 10 out of their last 13 games.
This was supposed to be a great day for the Cavaliers’ organization. LeBron James became just the seventh player in NBA history to score 30,000 career points and Kevin Love was named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team.
This should have been a night for celebrating, but instead, it turned into another finger-pointing battle after giving up uncontested layups.
James led the team in scoring on his milestone night. He finished the game with 28 points, 7 assists and 9 boards. He also turned the ball over five times and still hasn’t found his jump shot.
The Cavs’ defense was terrible once again as San Antonio put up 114 on 50.0% shooting from the floor. Surprisingly enough, those numbers aren’t as bad as they should’ve been. The Spurs went cold from deep and made just 8 of their 28 attempts from behind the arc.
Besides missing open threes, they played the game without Kawhi Leonard, Pau Gasol, Manu Ginobili and Rudy Gay.
We thought that there would be a learning curve when integrating Isaiah Thomas into the starting lineup but I don’t think anybody expected this. The Cavs are in shambles right now.
Here’s what we learned from yet another loss.
