More losses mean more trade rumors for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Would DeAndre Jordan, Lou Williams or George Hill really be enough to keep LeBron James in town?

Since late December it seems like the bottom has fallen out for Cleveland and wins have been very hard to come by. The Cleveland Cavaliers has only won 3 of their last 10 games. It’s no surprise trade rumors have drastically increased.

Some of the proposed trade rumors involving Cleveland include players that would definitely help the team. Jordan (14.9 TRB) would bring a defensive presence at the center position that Cleveland hasn’t had in years. Both Williams (40.8 FG3%) and Hill (45.2 FG3% ), whom Quenton Albertie discussed, are reliable scoring guards. Both players would be probable replacements for JR Smith who has not necessarily been a reliable contributor due to his lackluster three-point shooting this season (34.2%).

The argument whether these additions would be enough to beat the Golden State Warriors is strictly opinionated at this point. Nobody truly knows how well Cleveland would gel with any of these players. Nobody knows the success that Cleveland may or may not have.

Beyond all of the issues Cleveland is currently dealing with, a major concern for Cavalier fans lingers. That concern is whether or not LeBron will leave Cleveland in free agency this summer.

At this point, LeBron’s future is unpredictable. That said, it makes things more difficult for the Cavaliers front office. Understandably, dealing away the Brooklyn Nets first-round pick is nerve-racking for the organization.

At the end of the day, LeBron is a once in a generation player. It would be silly for Cleveland to not be in “win now” mode and continue to hold onto the Brooklyn pick. There may be a risk in dealing away the pick, but it’s a risk worth taking.

Cleveland should do whatever it takes to improve this team before the trade deadline (Feb. 8th). Even the consideration of trading away Kevin Love or Isaiah Thomas, maybe for the likes of someone like Paul George. Possible or not, Cleveland should trade for the betterment of now, not the future.

Let’s be honest, any of the players involved in the current trade rumors wouldn’t be enough to make LeBron think twice about staying in Cleveland. Cleveland should propose Love or Thomas, and the Brooklyn pick to the rest of the league to see what they can get in return.

If all else fails and Cleveland can only acquire Jordan, Hill, or Williams then Cavalier fans simply have to hope for the best when it comes to the potential departure of LeBron James.
