The New York Knicks are just outside of the 8th seed and have the potential to make the playoffs. Because of that, Lee might be hard to trade for, but it’s worth a shot.

The Knicks stand at the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference, owning a record of (19-21). They’re by no means out of playoff contention, however, they’re also not much of contender either. The Knicks are somewhat in the purgatory of the NBA. Not good enough to contend, but not bad enough to capture a lottery pick. That could be the reason the Knicks possibly decide to move him.

Courtney Lee is having the best year of his career by far. Lee is averaging 13.5 points, shooting 45.5% from the field and an astonishing 42.2% from three-point range.

This season, Lee is shooting more threes than he ever has (3.9) and is also making the most he ever has (1.6). In addition to his impressive shooting from the field, Lee is shooting an incredible 96.1% from the free throw line. In addition to Lee’s remarkable shooting, he’s also averaging 1.4 steals per game.

Lee’s consistency is something to marvel at. In his last 10 games, he has scored under 10 points only twice. Consistency at the wing position is just what the Cavaliers need. Lee is in the second year of a 4-year, over $48 million contract. If Lee becomes available via trade, the Cleveland Cavaliers should certainly be interested in acquiring him.
