The Cleveland Cavaliers have struggled at times this season, so could a trade be brewing in the Land?

By now, the 5-7 start for the Cleveland Cavaliers is long behind them. However, after a three-game losing streak along with a tough loss in Boston has recently haunted them, you have to assume some fans and analysts have started to questions the Cavs.

While no one knows what this team will be capable of with Isaiah Thomas back in full capacity, it’s still understood that they might not have the firepower to take down the Golden State Warriors in a seven-game series. For the first time in four seasons, the Cavs could also be challenged in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Altogether, it’d be comfortable to see the Cavs improve in any way possible to improve their chances this postseason.

That said, as the new year gets underway, we’re going to take a look at five potential trades the Cleveland Cavaliers could make to truly compete this June. The Cavs, as a whole, have a couple holes they could fill. For starters, they could get a productive shooting guard, which JR Smith hasn’t been. They could also get some capable, defensive big man to help protect the rim.

But, will they? Will they make a pre-trade deadline deal before the third straight season?

While these trades are just hypothetical, we tried to craft them in a way where each team would at least consider the deal. Without further ado, here are a five trades the Cavs should make in 2018.
