Game Four of the NBA Finals

The Cavaliers were trailing 3-0 in the NBA Finals. Cleveland had their hearts snatched out of their chests in game three when Kevin Durant nailed the go-ahead three-pointer to win the game. It seemed as if there was no hope for the Cavaliers, but nobody in the city was ready to give up.

With the odds stacked against them, the Cavaliers opened up game four with a bang. The Cavs jumped out to a 17 point lead after scoring 48 points in the first quarter. By the end of the first half, the Cavaliers had an NBA Finals record of 86 points. The Quicken Loans arena erupted after every bucket the Cavs hit. The arena nearly exploded in the third quarter when LeBron James threw an alley-oop to himself off the backboard and dunked all over the Warriors.

Cleveland finished the game with 137 points and an NBA Finals record for most three-pointers in a game. The Cavaliers nailed 24 total three-pointers in this game, one shy of the all-time NBA record for three’s in any game. Kyrie Irving led the way with 40 points. LeBron James was close behind with 31 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. Kevin Love also had a great game, hitting six of his eight three-pointer attempts. Four different Cavaliers scored in double digits, and seven Cavs players hit at least one three-pointer.

This game was the only game that Cleveland managed to win in the 2017 NBA Finals. However, the offensive explosion the Cavaliers had in game four began to raise hopes of fans everywhere that Cleveland may have a chance to win this series.
