Cavs have offered a trade package for DeAndre Jordan?

Have the Cleveland Cavaliers put together for Los Angeles Clippers’ defensive dynamo DeAndre Jordan?
The Cleveland Cavaliers are indeed in the mix for a star player. No, not Paul George (at least not yet), but DeAndre Jordan, the Los Angeles Clippers’ star center.
The Clippers are currently 11-18 and 10th in the Western Conference. With the Clippers unlikely going to make it to the playoffs this year, they will possibly look into moving their All-Star big ,am. The Cleveland Cavaliers are one of many teams that will consider making a move for Jordan, a 6-foot-11 center that excels in rim-protection and is notorious for making highlight-reel dunks look easier than taking candy from a baby.
Jordan has a player option on his contract and could potentially opt-out this offseason, making him an unrestricted free agent next summer. The Clippers downfall, plus the Clippers possibly losing Jordan for nothing, has to make them seriously consider trading Jordan.
According to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, the Cavs are in the mix for Jordan, along (speculation) with the Milwaukee Bucks.
"The Cleveland Cavaliers have also been in the mix with an offer built around guard Iman Shumpert, Tristan Thompson and a first-round pick. It’s been reported that pick was possibly the Brooklyn pick obtained in the Kyrie Irving trade, although sources close to the situation say it was never discussed and that the Cavs were open to moving their own pick in any trade scenarios."

This is a pretty interesting trade but a fair trade for both sides. The Cavs get their athletic center in Jordan, who can help right away, especially against the Golden State Warriors.
For the Clippers, they get a young, energetic center in Tristan Thompson, who is on a long-term contract right now. Iman Shumpert’s contract could essentially be an expiring contract, as like Jordan’s. Shumpert has a player option and could opt-out and be a free agent next summer as well.
The Cavaliers are not likely to trade the Brooklyn Nets pick, which would jump-start their rebuild if LeBron James were to leave next summer. The Cavs own their own first round pick and will fall likely in the 25-30 range, which is still pretty good value in a deep draft. However, it is not known if the Cavs will trade Thompson because Thompson has the same agent in LeBron James.
For the Cavs, adding Jordan would be huge. He is a rim protector; something the Cavs have sorely missed for a long time. He’s very good in the pick and roll game, an extremely flashy high flyer, and a player that a team and crowd could rally behind. He would also help improve a Cavs defensive that has increasingly become better since the start of the season.
Jordan adds another dimension to this Cavs team that hasn’t been seen in a long time, especially on the defensive end.
