Cleveland Cavaliers: Ranking the team’s top 10 current players
No. 4: Dwyane Wade
Team rank: 4th in ppg, 4th in rebounds per game, 2nd in assists per game
Slash line: .464/ .355/ .696
Dwyane Wade is in his fifteenth season in the NBA, joining the association at the same time as LeBron James.
Wade started the season as the Cavs’ starting shooting guard but quickly transitioned to the second unit, where he has more than flourished. He is the key reason for the second unit’s success. Averaging 3.9 assists per game, Wade has also managed to be the second unit’s key distributor.
Wade is averaging a career-low 11.5 points per game, and this is the first time in his career that he hasn’t been a consistent starter. This has been a new and unfamiliar territory for Wade; however, he has made the most of the situation, significantly impacting one of the league’s best teams.
Believe it or not, Wade is averaging a career-high from downtown. While he makes just 0.4 triples per game, Wade has made 36.4% of his shots from deep. Combine his second unit distribution with his success from downtown, and it’s clear that even in his new role, Wade is flourishing.
For that, Wade comes in as the Cavs’ fourth best player.
