The Cleveland Cavaliers recently saw their 13-game win streak snapped but not before we learned some significant lessons about this team.

Prior to the Cleveland Cavaliers 13-game win streak, they were 5-7. They were a team in disarray, and many of their players did not know their role on the team. After 13 straight victories, most of that has been completely cleared up.

However, even after the win streak, the Cavaliers have yet to beat a top Western Conference team, so their resilience there is still unknown. And, to add onto that, their team is about to have its rotation completed redone as players get healthy. While it was great to see the Cavs dominate some weaker teams, they still have a long road to go before they truly contend with Golden State for the league’s best team.

As for the streak itself, it included victories over the 76ers, Heat, and a very impressive Pistons’ team that the Cavs demolished by 25+. That and a 113-91 win over the Bulls were the only two victories of over 15 points throughout the entire streak. The streak sadly came to an end as Victor Oladipo and the Indiana Pacers downed the Cavs at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indy.

That said, new streaks will come and go, but none will teach us more about the character of this team than this past one. Here are several lessons we learned from their recent success.
