2.) Iman Shumpert, Channing Frye, Ante Zizic, plus Brooklyn Nets pick (protected1-7)

I know Channing Frye is a beloved member of the Cavaliers here in Cleveland, but if the Cavs don’t want to part with Thompson and if the Grizzlies want expiring contracts plus a young player and a pick, this could work for both sides.

As the above trade does, this trade creates another roster spot, leaving them with two open roster spots. This trade only projects the Cavs for +1.

This is the type of deal that the Grizz should do if they are confident they can also move Conley. Teams like Philadelphia have proven that entering a full rebuild can eventually be beneficial. Conley’s contract is too much for the Grizz to bring in any real talent this offseason. While Conley is a fantastic player, the Grizz would be better off having a series of trades ready if they go through with this one.

Along those lines, the Nets’ pick could easily fall outside the top 7, so they might be able to snag several first-round picks for their stars and rebuild in the elite Western Conference.
