The Cleveland Cavaliers will not give up too much for the aging Marc Gasol, but his recent frustrations in Memphis might lower the price for the former all-star.

There are several players on the Cleveland Cavaliers’ radar, and many trade rumors get swirled throughout the NBA. While no interest has been shown on Cleveland’s part, Marc Gasol’s recent frustration with the Memphis Grizzlies after not playing in the fourth quarter of a tight game could help the Cleveland Cavaliers acquire him.

Marc Gasol, who has played over 30 minutes a game for the Grizzlies since his rookie season, was in the game against the Nets for just 28 minutes, including absolutely no court time in the fourth quarter. The Grizzlies lost the game by 10, outscoring the Nets by 4 in the fourth.

Here’s what Gasol said following the game via Ronald Tillery, a Grizzlies beat reporter.

"I don’t like it one bit. I’m more (angry) and frustrated than I can ever show. But for the benefit of the team I have to show good leadership and continue to do my job."

Marc Gasol is in the top 25 in minutes per game in the entire NBA. His volume usage could be one reason for his frustrations after watching his Grizzlies lose to the 7-12 Brooklyn Nets. The Memphis Grizzlies are just 7-12 now and must step up their play in order to reach the playoffs. If the Grizzlies fail to make the playoffs, it would be the first time in almost a decade (7 seasons) that they wouldn’t be playing in the postseason.

Gasol has had the privilege of playing on dominating teams throughout his career. This season, however, Gasol’s -4.9 net rating is the worst since his rookie season. All that to say, Gasol’s frustrations might have just been let loose tonight, but they might have been boiling up for quite some time.

As the Grizzlies seasons continues to get worse and edge their way out of the playoff picture for good, Gasol’s value will trend down while the likelihood he is traded might trend up. Gasol has averaged 19.1 points per game and a career-high 9.3 rebounds per game. He is still effective, and he might be able to be bought for cheap by Cleveland.

Over the course of the last two seasons, the Cavaliers have looked to improve their roster as the season gets closer to ending. In the 2015-2016 season, they went after Channing Frye midseason, and in the following season, they traded a first-round pick for Kyle Korver. Marc Gasol might be the main player to venture onto the Cavaliers radar this season, and with his frustrations possibly boiling over in Memphis, his request for a trade might eventually happen.
