GRIZZLIES AND CAVALIERS BLOCKBUSTER

With Conley out for two more weeks due to a sore Achilles and the Grizzlies (7-8) currently out of the playoff picture, it might be time for them to blow the whole roster up and rebuild. After letting Zach Randolph go and signing JaMychal Green, it’s apparent that the Grizzlies are looking to get younger and more athletic while the Cavs are trying to win it all.

Age would obviously be a concern for the league’s oldest team, but in the last two years Marc’s size, vision, and IQ has proved to be too much for the Warriors high-powered offense. He holds a 3-1 record against them and has won the games he’s played in by an average of 13 PPG.

Unfortunately, his history of recurring foot complications could be a problem for a Cavaliers squad already on the eggshells when it comes to injuries.

Giving up Thompson and Shumpert, who have been nothing short of workhorses for the Cavs, would surely be a blow to the team. They would also be taking a gamble on their future by giving up the pick. But acquiring Marc Gasol, who still has 2 years left on his contract, would give the Cavaliers a great chance of winning it all for the next 2 years and give LeBron all the more reason to stay.
