The Cleveland Cavaliers pulled off a 23 point second-half comeback to defeat the New York Knicks 104-101.

The Cavs fell behind early even though they started the game with effort for a change. They just couldn’t hit a shot in the first three quarters. That changed in the fourth quarter when they put up 43 points and stole the game. The Cleveland Cavaliers showed once again why you can’t count them out of any game.

This game had everything from trash talking and fights to a great comeback and dramatic shots. You could sense the hostility in the air from the tip thanks to LeBron James’s comments about Dennis Smith Jr. and Phil Jackson. James backed it up with more choice words about all the Knicks after a pregame shoot-around.

Fortunately, for LeBron, he was able to back up his words with an outstanding comeback including hitting the game-changing three over Kristaps Porzingis to claim the lead with just over a minute left. He finished the game with 23 points, 12 assists, and 9 boards.

Kyle Korver started the comeback by coming in and hitting three after three in the fourth. He got on a roll and the Cavs found a way to ride his shooting back into the game. Korver put up 19 points on 5 of 8 shooting from deep in the fourth quarter to seal the win. He finished the game with 21 points, 5 boards, an assist, and a steal.

Dwyane Wade had a solid day off the bench with 15 points, 8 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals, and was a plus 13 on the night. Wade clinched the win with a key offensive rebound in the closing seconds of the game. Channing Frye also had a big contribution off the bench with 9 points on 3 of 6 shooting from deep.

The Knicks were able to get out to a big lead thanks to a big night from Tim Hardaway Jr. He continued his string of outstanding play against the Cavs with 28 points. Enes Kanter and Kristaps Porzingas both finished the game with 20 points each.

The Cavaliers still have flaws, but they showed just how good they could be in the fourth quarter. Here’s what we learned from the comeback.
