Games 5-7 of the 2016 NBA Finals VS Golden State
In what was arguably the greatest comeback in NBA history, LeBron James leads his Cavalier team back from a 3-1 deficit. Obviously, he couldn’t have done this without a few monstrous performances in games 5, 6, and 7.
James dropped back to back games of 41 points in games five and six of this series. James also collected 16 rebounds in game five and dished out 11 assists in game six. Through both games, James was dominant on both sides of the floor. Then, in game Seven, LeBron recorded a triple-double to help lead his team to a championship. LeBron completely owned the game and left his mark at every turn. Without James performance, the city of Cleveland would still be suffering from a 50-year title drought.
Game 6 vs Boston: 45 points (73% shooting), 15 rebounds
While being down 3-2 and facing the Boston Celtics on the road, LeBron delivered the best game of his career. From the start, LeBron had a stranglehold on this game. Scoring 30 points in the first half and having a stretch in which he hit 10 consecutive field goals. LeBron let the Boston crowd know right from the tip-off that he wasn’t going home tonight. Along with the superb shooting, James grabbed 15 rebounds and was a lockdown defender.
This was perhaps the most pissed off we have seen LeBron, and I don’t think opposing teams want to see him this angry ever again.
Conclusion:
It’s safe to say that LeBron James is a clutch player. His stats hold up when compared to the best of the best. He has the game footage to back up the numbers. He has proved everything he has to get his name on the list of clutch players.
End the debate, LeBron James is clutch. Flat out.
