Isaiah Thomas, who was acquired in part of the blockbuster Kyrie Irving trade, made sure you didn’t forget about him with this tweet.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been at the forefront of current NBA news for their rough start to the season. Through ten games, Isaiah Thomas wanted to make sure Cleveland and the Cavaliers’ fans have not forgotten about him.

He posted this on Twitter late Sunday night.

Isaiah Thomas has truth behind his statement. Last season, Thomas ended as an MVP candidate along with averaging the second most fourth-quarter points in the NBA. The 5-foot-9 point guard also put up an insane 28.9 points per game. However, due to an injury that Thomas ironically suffered against the Cavaliers in the 2016 postseason, he has been out for the Cavs’ first ten games.

Although most anticipate Thomas to be out for quite a while still, Cleveland.com reported that Thomas is “making progress” towards a return. The Cavaliers have been playing poorly, most fans know that. But, according to that Cleveland.com report, the Cavaliers will not be rushing Thomas back anytime soon. Tyronn Lue told them this:

"I don’t know, coach Tyronn Lue said Sunday when asked if he still thought Thomas would be out until January. You know, the staff is doing a great job of just, you know, just trying to get him ready, trying to get him right, so, we don’t want to rush him back if he’s not 100 percent."

Derrick Rose, the Cavaliers current starting point guard, is now on a minutes restriction that will go through the majority of the season. For the most part, the minutes’ restriction on Rose seems to be a precaution due to his injury-prone past. His restriction is set for 28-31 minutes per game. When Thomas comes back, Rose may not even get up to 28 minutes regardless of the restriction.

Rose is not as good of a fit as Thomas should be in the starting unit. Thomas’ shooting will be highly coveted when he joins the team on the court. Even though they started 4-6, this team is far from playing at their full potential, and the return of Isaiah Thomas will certainly help them reach that.
