The Cleveland Cavaliers won their last game, a primetime showdown with the Wiz. While they did look superb, some lurking issues could give them problems.

One obvious flaw this Cleveland Cavaliers’ team possesses is their lack of defensive ability combined with their lackluster defensive effort. That is the glaring issue that this team faces, but a lack of rebounding and an exuberant amount of turnovers closely trail their abominable defense in the pecking order. I hit on this same topic a couple of games again after the Cavaliers were successfully outshot in their first seven games but in a different light.

It is not necessarily rebounding or turnovers that individually kill this team. The Cavaliers, entering their primetime matchup against the Washing Wizards, were 3-5 and lost four straight. Outside of their poor defense, the Cavaliers have had one other fact that stands out. That is, the Cavaliers, in all of their nine games, have been outshot by their opponent. There is an array of reasons why one team might outshoot the other.

But, rebounding and turnovers are the two reasons certainly stand out. Only the Timberwolves and Jazz averaged more turnovers per game and fewer rebounds per game. Although those teams are a combined 10-7, they each have an extreme amount of talent which helps cover up their lacking numbers.

As for the Cavs, here is why they have been outshot and how they can fix it.
