The Cavaliers aren’t defending the three-point line well.

For the third straight game, the Cavs allowed their opponent to hit at least 17 threes. Part of that is going up against hot shooting teams, but having it happen in three straight games shows that it’s also a huge defensive issue. The NBA has transitioned to a three-point shooting league, and the Cavs’ defense hasn’t adjusted.

More from King James Gospel

The problem isn’t necessarily that the Cavs defense allowed 17 made threes, it’s that they allowed the Nets to attempt 46 of them. This has been a trend for the previous two games as well. They gave up 33 looks from deep to the Bulls and 35 against the Magic. This isn’t something that’s going to fix itself. The Cavs need to focus on limiting their opponent’s three-point attempts. You can’t realistically compete for a championship if aren’t defending the three-point line.

LeBron is the leader in all-time games played by a Cavalier

James passed his good friend Zydrunas Ilgauskas for the leader in games played in a Cleveland Cavaliers’ uniform. This was LeBron’s 772 game played as a Cavalier.
