Kyle Korver: Weakness– Defense, Age, Playmaking

After being traded to the Cavaliers last season and then re-signed this offseason, Kyle Korver has already made his presence felt this season. No matter what happens, Korver’s legacy in Cleveland might always be centered around that missed three in clutch time in the 2017 NBA Finals. He needs to change that reputation.

Korver will again be a significant contributor once again for the Cavaliers. He has already shown his microwave ability as he drilled two straight threes against the Bucks to open up the Cavaliers’ lead. Korver is leading the Cavaliers with 1.7 triples per game but has only taken 4.3 total field goals per game. The good thing about Korver is he knows his limits. While he might not be a fantastic playmaker, he doesn’t try to drive in the paint and shoot any circus shot.

Defensively, Korver has only 0.3 steals per game and has yet to record a block this season. His defensive rating is also very disappointing. The Cavaliers, so far this season, have a 105.1 defensive rating, and Korver’s is by the far the worst of any single Cavalier at 120.1. At 36, Korver’s time in the NBA will soon be coming to an end, and it is obvious through his defensive contributions.
