Cleveland Cavaliers: One blatant weakness for every Cavalier
Kevin Love: Weakness– Streakiness
Kevin Love is entering his fourth season in Cleveland, and it will be his first as the Cavaliers’ second option on offense. Throughout the first three games, Love has averaged the second most field goals at 12.7 and the second most points at 17.0 per game. While those numbers are fine for Love, he must be even more effective and aggressive every game.
Love has shot less than 10% from deep this season. That percentage certainly won’t continue to be that low, but it is a testament to how streaky Love can be. Normally, Love is one of the most lethal Cavaliers’ from behind the arc. Unlike Rose and Wade, we know Love can shoot. He has proven it time and time again. During the Cavaliers’ opener, he even drilled a clutch three late in the fourth quarter, so his confidence is obviously sky-high; let’s just hope his skill follows.
This will be an extremely telling season for Love. He has been given a different role and also been expected to rebound more without Tristan Thompson in the starting lineup. Love has to be the second best Cavalier on the court every night.
Love, to most people’s standards, has underperformed in Cleveland. This season could change all that.
