The Cleveland Cavaliers’ offseason signee Jeff Green threw down a nasty dunk which was ranked as the top play of the preseason.

Jeff Green put up a team-high 19 points in one of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ four preseason losses. But, in that loss, Green made his presence known with the NBA’s top play of the preseason. Among other things, this proved that Green’s athleticism at 31 can still compete with the NBA’s best.

That was the only time in the preseason that Green put up over 10 points. However, this upcoming season, Green will be a key second unit player, and his presence also forced Channing Frye out of the rotation. Green, throughout the entire preseason, really struggled with his shot. He shot 12.5% from deep. Hopefully, this is just temporary, but either way, Green’s athleticism showed through in the video below and that might be enough to keep him in the rotation.

The NBA’s official Instagram came out with the releases of the top plays.

He was not only nominated for the top dunk, but Green was also put in the running for the top play of the preseason. He won the countdown with several other fantastic plays rounding out the top five. Nikola Jokic’s behind-the-back pass was another one of the top plays that is certainly worth a look.

Green is coming over from Orlando where he spent all of last season. He has not had a true NBA home in quite some time. Back in the 2013-2014 season when Green averaged 16.9 points per game, he was part of his longest tenure with the Boston Celtics which only lasted about three seasons before he ended up elsewhere. That said, this man can still play, and he has a chance to reinvent his name with the Cleveland Cavaliers and plays like this.

This upcoming season should be a thriller for the Cavaliers. They kick off their season with the NBA’s first game against Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics on Tuesday, October 17.
