A brief look at the Cleveland Cavaliers current roster and depth chart for 2017-2018
A brief look at the Cleveland Cavaliers current roster and depth chart for the 2017-2018 season.
After losing to the Golden State Warriors in the 2017 NBA Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers were expected to make a few moves to close the talent gap between they and the Dubs. However, the Cleveland Cavaliers are bringing in what’s essentially an entirely different team than last season after completely rebuilding their second unit, signing Dwyane Wade as a starting shooting guard and completing a trade that replaced Kyrie Irving with two starting players. This may not all have been with the Warriors in mind of course but the Cavs are largely expected to meet the Warriors in the Finals for the fourth consecutive season.
With Isaiah Thomas’ injury, the Cleveland Cavaliers are without one of their best players for the rest of the calendar year. However, they have tremendous depth this season and a bevy of ball-handlers as well that soften the blow. As a result, the Cavs may be making alterations to their rotation after the All-Star Break but should still be able to separate themselves as the best team in the Eastern Conference.
