Cleveland Cavaliers: 7 teams that should trade for Channing Frye
Team #2: The star-studded Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves loaded their starting lineup this offseason. They brought in Jimmy Butler and Jeff Teague while retaining superstars Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins. But, the one thing that all those players have in common is that they are not competent from behind the arc.

Overall, the Minnesota Timberwolves as a team leaves a lot to be a desired from a championship-contender, and most of that void is caused by their lack of three-point shooting. Last season, the Wolves made just 7.3 threes per game, the fewest of any team in the NBA. If they want to contend, that must change, and Channing Frye could help them change that.
Frye shot almost two-thirds of his jumpers from three-point range last season. The 11-year veteran could bring several key attributes to this team aside from his lethal shooting. But, having a sharpshooter that shoots over 40% from deep and over 4 threes a game is critical for success in Minnesota this season and Frye’s most useful attribute.
Throughout their first three preseason games, the Wolves have seen both Wiggins and Teague hoist up 4.0 threes per game and shoot 33.3% each from that range. If they can continue shooting like that and add Frye, this team could actually be a force in the West.
Just like for Philadelphia, the Wolves plan to be a playoff team for years to come, so one or two second-round pick shouldn’t be too much to ask for.
