Target #4: The Claw, Kawhi Leonard

The thing that comes into play when selecting these players is not just the skill, but it is the skill combined with the personality. Ultimately who LeBron James wants on his team will be solely up to him. Kawhi Leonard has been a player that has always had the utmost respect for James and visa versa. That respect and admiration could make him one of James’ top choices.

Kawhi Leonard is also considered by many to the be league’s best two-way player. Last season he averaged 1.8 steals and 0.7 players to go along with his 25.5 points per game. He was clearly the best player on the San Antonio Spurs and helped lead them to a 61-21 record. His calm demeanor can often times get Leonard overlooked, but he excelled and even has become a perennial choice for MVP.

Ever since his rookie season in 2011-2012, Leonard has steadily increased both his role and numbers. There is no reason to think Leonard couldn’t continue that and top 26 or 27 points per game this season. While Leonard would be a fantastic selection, there might be a few different players James would prefer on his squad.
