LeBron James is one of the most popular players in the NBA, and it almost a lock that he will receive the most all-star votes in the Eastern Conference.

The NBA All-Star game, which normally highlights All-Star weekend, has received almost a complete makeover. This makeover could allow LeBron James to selected the greatest team ever assembled in the history of the competition.

According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, the players that win the fan vote, which is a popularity contest, will become the captains for the two sides. Last season, LeBron James and Stephen Curry, players in the Eastern Conference and Western Conference respectively, were the only two to top 1.8 million fan votes. But, they would not get to choose anybody in the entire NBA.

According to Windhorst, the path players take to the All-Star will remain the same and an equal amount of players will still come out of each conference. The only difference will be the teams, not the players on the teams.

That same ESPN report said that it will be a playground-selection style, but the true details of how the draft will take place are still relatively unknown. This type of ignorance gives way to some intriguing ideas. If LeBron James were to win the fan vote and received the No. 1 overall pick the draft, who would he take? Could he surprise everyone and take his former teammate Kyrie Irving to team up for one last game?

Here is a short list of who his top five candidates might be. Oh, and this is assuming that Steph Curry won the captain’s role for the Western Conference.
