Cleveland Cavaliers: A master list of current trade possibilities
Channing Frye/Jose Calderon to Milwaukee for Rashard Vaughn
Rashard Vaughn, also known as Mr. Showtime, was the No. 17 pick in the 2015 NBA draft. He received time for the Bucks in both of his seasons in the NBA.
Per 36 minutes last season, Vaughn averaged 11.2 points. He didn’t get much run as Milwaukee did little trial throughout last season since they were fighting for playoff seeding. Vaughn can play though. He excelled in the Las Vegas Summer League, and hopefully, his scoring ability can transition to the NBA in his junior year.
Frye, just like in Minnesota, would exponentially help the Bucks’ perimeter shooting. Making 8.8 threes per game, the Bucks weren’t quite as poor as the Wolves, but they still managed to be 22nd in the NBA in that category. With Giannis leading the charge and attracting the majority of offensive attention, Frye camping in the corner would greatly enhance Giannis’ ability to drive in the lane. Frye shot 41.3% from the corner, so if the Bucks want to test out the strategy, they might have success with both Teletovic and Frye in the game and just taking their chances defensively.
Giannis will garner so much attention that giving him more offensive weapons would definitely be a plus. The Bucks might want to keep Vaughn, but if he doesn’t pan out, then they also would’ve lost out on potentially ruling the Eastern Conference. If you’re the Cavaliers, why not? Gain some youth and trade away an asset that might not get much run regardless.
