Isaiah Thomas, the former Celtic star, finally came out and talked about the trade that has sent him to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Isaiah Thomas has finally spoken out about being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In his letter, he talks about the phone call from Danny Ainge, telling his sons and family about getting traded, his sister’s tragic death and also playing along with LeBron James and the Cavs.
His oldest son, James, seemed pretty excited about his father getting traded to Cleveland.
"James, my oldest — I guess he really is his father’s son, because he asked the same first question I did. “To where?”“Cleveland. They traded me for Kyrie.” And I’m pretty sure you know what came next.“LEBRON! LEBRON JAMES! Dad — Dad. You get to play with LeBron James!”"
His other son talked about why he is sad to move to Cleveland. His reasoning — because Cleveland has no skate parks. So Cleveland, if you know any skate parks in the Cleveland area, let Thomas know!

Later down in the letter, he talks about how it hurt getting traded and how it still hurts.
"But yeah, I’ll just say it: That shit hurt. It hurt a lot.And I won’t lie — it still hurts. It’s not that I don’t understand it. Of course I get it: This is a business. Danny is a businessman, and he made a business move. I don’t agree with it, just personally, and I don’t think the Boston Celtics got better by making this trade. But that’s not my job."
Thomas goes on talking about the Cavs, saying: “You are not going to want to mess with the Cavs this year.”
"I’mma just say this here, point-blank, to get it over with — and then you can go ahead and post it on whatever bulletin boards you want to: You are not going to want to mess with the Cavs this year. This is going to be a great year to be a Cavs fan, a great year. And I’m excited. From a basketball perspective, me on the Cavs is a match made in heaven."
I am not sure about you guys, but this letter is powerful and it got me excited about the upcoming season for the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers were able to acquire a dedicated and terrific player in Thomas for this upcoming season. Thomas was unstoppable last season even when they double and triple teamed him. The talented, short point guard still has a lot to prove. He needs to help LBJ win a ring and now is his chance. This note is a promise to Cleveland. Thomas is ready.
