Cleveland Cavaliers: A master list of Iman Shumpert trade possibilities
Trade: Shumpert and Frye to the Pacers, Thaddeus Young to the Cavaliers
A versatile scoring big is also a need of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Thaddeus Young could be their answer. Young averaged just 11.0 points per game last season which is the lowest since his rookie season.
The 29-year-old is a bit overpaid at $14.7 million per season. That is an exuberant amount for the production that Young has shown, and it would force the Cavaliers to toss in another piece of the puzzle in order to offset his salary. After starting all of the 74 games he played in Indiana, it might be time Young chases that illustrious ring.
The lefty made 0.6 threes per game last season, so he can shoot from outside, but not at the volume that a player like Channing Frye can. Young would be a fantastic asset for the Cavaliers. That said, the Pacers might be better off dealing him especially since they drafted a versatile power forward in T.J. Leaf.
The Pacers need to think future and dealing Young to free up time and room for Leaf could be a great move. Along with dealing Young, the Pacers would gain a solid rotational asset to play alongside Corey Joseph and company.
