Cleveland Cavaliers: 3 possible trades for Iman Shumpert
Trade #3: The Chicago Bulls
Trade: Chicago Bulls receive Iman Shumpert, Cleveland Cavaliers receive Justin Holiday and the Bulls’ 2018 second round pick
If a buyout happens, the Chicago Bulls would then have the cap to make this happen.
They would obviously depart with their hometown hero Dwyane Wade, but they could trade for Iman Shumpert, who could add similar qualities. Shumpert, just like Wade, is an above average defender although his numbers might not always reflect it. He could help maintain the defensive domination that Chicago showed last season, finishing with NBA’s sixth best defensive rating.
The Bulls are looking more towards the future at this point, especially after dealing their superstar Jimmy Butler earlier this offseason. They did sign Holiday this offseason, but at 28, I don’t think he would be too prized of as asset for Chicago. Shumpert could come in and give an extremely young backcourt a quality veteran with championship pedigree.
Must Read: The next two (or so) trades the Cavaliers should do
Since Shumpert’s request, the Cavaliers might as well sent him away. Just like Irving, it might take a while, but Altman should easily find the best deal for the valuable combo guard.
