The Cleveland Cavaliers will be traveling to the Bay on Christmas Day, but Paul George vs LeBron James might be a better Christmas Day gift for fans.

Per ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Cleveland Cavaliers will travel to the Bay on Christmas Day this season.

"The Golden State Warriors will face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the centerpiece Christmas Day game for the third consecutive season, the NBA revealed Thursday, along with the rest of its high-profile Dec. 25 schedule."

More from King James Gospel

While this trilogy will undoubtedly be a terrific battle, most fans might prefer to see a Paul George vs LeBron James battle. Over the last few seasons, the battles between Paul George and LeBron James have resulted in terrific, nail-biting games. Since the 2013-2014 season (the season George’s Pacers won 16 of their first 17 games), Paul George has played on extremely inferior teams compared to LeBron James. Since that season, where George’s Pacers met LeBron in an incredible Eastern Conference Finals, LeBron has dominated the matchup, sweeping George in the 2016-2017 playoffs.

Regardless of the past few seasons, when George was the man in Indiana with a solid core of David West, Roy Hibbert and George Hill, he put up a thrilling fight against LeBron James. It has been three years since we’ve seen Paul George on a contending team take on LeBron James. It has been less than three months since we saw the Cleveland Cavaliers take on the Golden State Warriors.

The Dubs vs Cavs happen at least seven times a season, obviously including the Finals, but I doubt we see much of LBJ vs Paul George this upcoming season. I’m sure the rating for the Cavs-Dubs game will be out of the roof, but the George-James matchup, that use to happen every other month, will hardly be twice a year now. I’m sure some fans would get a better kick from seeing James take on George and Westbrook in OKC than Durant and Curry in the Bay.
