A Kyrie Irving trade these five teams should at least consider

Trade #5: The Portland Trail Blazers — Damian Lillard and Kyrie Irving

This trade, while improbable, would make sense for both sides. Lillard, who is 27 years old, is a more complete player than Irving is. Lillard has helped lead his team to the playoffs on several occasions while Irving was not able to win over 35 games by himself. Lillard, who has had much more help, averaged 1.8 points per game more than Irving last season.

The skill sets of these two players are similar. Ultimately, each team would be in a win-win situation if they made this deal. Lillard could compete for a championship and then help start the next rebuild since he is locked into his contract until after the 2020-2021 season. Kyrie could, with the help of another 25-year-old, C.J. McCollum, help build a winning culture for years to come in Portland.

In the end, the Cavaliers could trade a superstar for a superstar, and Portland could basically whine the clock back a few years.

Must Read: Kyrie Irving won't succeed without LeBron James

Kyrie Irving trades will be a hot topic going into the season if he finds his way to Cleveland for training camp, and those fives teams, none of which have expressed public interest in Irving (outside of Denver), could easily make a splash deal as the season progresses.
