The Cleveland Cavaliers and Kyrie Irving are pulling further apart by the minute, and this trade could make both sides incredibly happy.
Kyrie Irving, who requested a trade earlier this offseason, was recently caught mocking LeBron James with the Cavaliers’ nemesis, Stephen Curry. That’s inexcusable from the point guard that has had his career shaped by LeBron James.
With that outlandish video, comes the ridiculous rumors about Kyrie and his next destination. If the Phoenix Suns were to give up Josh Jackson, it would almost be a done deal, but without him included, Cleveland would likely turn down any offer. Without Phoenix, a trade involving Kyrie Irving seems less likely.
But, there is another team; another player that the Cavaliers could use to make yet another Finals run, and that is Damian Lillard. Damian Lillard guides the elite backcourt that includes himself and C.J. McCollum, and he could possibly be a Cavalier next season.
This was the trade concept by Bill Simmons that got the thought process going.
While that trade works, there are different options for both the Trail Blazers and Cavaliers, and here is one of them.
