Former MVP Derrick Rose chooses to sign with Cavaliers
Rose and Cleveland both won
For both the Cavaliers and Rose this is a win-win situation. Rose signing in Cleveland shows his commitment to winning. Also by signing a 1-year, $2.1 million deal, Rose is betting on himself and if he has a positive showing with the Cavaliers, he could be in for a pay raise next summer.
As stated above, Rose gives Cleveland something they lacked last year, a true backup and a combination of Rose and Bledsoe could fill what Kyrie provided the Cavaliers the last three years at the point guard position.
Rose, like Irving, has a history of poor defense, but if he comes off the bench, the Cavaliers could try their best to hide Rose on defense as they have done in the past with other players.
The whirlwind that is the Cavaliers offseason has taken many twists and turns, but the signing of Rose could be one of the few bright spots for the team this summer.

Injury history aside (and that is a tough thing to overlook) Rose can be a spark plug for a team that still has its eyes on getting back to the NBA Finals and winning another NBA championship.
