The Masterlist of Reported Trade Scenarios Centered on Kyrie Irving
Denver Nuggets
Unknown
There’s no details about who the Denver Nuggets would give up in a trade. However, it’s been reported that the Nuggets would give up Gary Harris, a budding shooting guard, for Kevin Love in a trade. Depending on how the Cavs like more between Harris and Jamal Murray, a trade centered on one of the two will bring the Cavs a player who is a solid shooter and questionable defender, no matter who it is.
Defensive issues aside, as Irving had issues on this side of the ball as well, the Cavs need a player who can function as a volume scorer to replace their headstrong point guard. That would seem to be Murray, who took more shot attempts per 36 minutes and with increased efficiency could score more than twenty points per game. However, Harris was very efficient last season and with more shot attempts, he could be a twenty point per game scoring too.
For the Cavs, efficiency is incredibly important. That could make Harris the more valuable of the two although Murray is a more impressive ball-handler and shooter off-the-dribble.
Like the Sacramento Kings, this trade makes more sense for the Cavs if the Nuggets are trying to work on a three-team trade that would also bring Carmelo Anthony to Cleveland.
