Phoenix Suns

This team wasn’t on Irving’s list of preferred destinations, but it still may be a mutually beneficial destination.

The Suns are a very young team, not quite ready to truly contend just yet. Adding Kyrie Irving would go a long way in making them a threat to the West. Kyrie Irving and Devin Booker would be one of the NBA’s best backcourt tandems. If they can play well with athletic youngsters Josh Jackson and Marquese Chriss, the Suns would be one of the league’s most exciting teams.

More from Cavs News

The Suns would gain a veteran player with NBA Finals experience, who also happens to still be in the prime of his career. Kyrie has managed to improve his points per game average nearly every season in his career, and he is still only 25 years old. If Phoenix could acquire Irving, their core would be set for the foreseeable future.

The Cavs will be looking for a capable option at point guard if they trade Irving, and the Suns would be able to provide that to them. Eric Bledsoe is a player who could be involved in a trade with Phoenix, and he would be an adequate replacement for Irving. Bledsoe scored fewer points than Irving last season, but averaged more rebounds, steals, blocks and assists.

Eric Bledsoe is also well connected to some current Cavs, as well. He shares an agent with LeBron James and Tristan Thompson in Rich Paul. James and Bledsoe are also very good friends, and James even attended his wedding a few weeks ago in Alabama. The two also train together in the offseason.

Kyrie Irving has been one of the greatest players in Cavs history. If this is the end of his time in Cleveland, one of these three destinations could be where he ends up.
