San Antonio Spurs

Irving also reportedly listed the Spurs as one of the teams he would prefer to be traded to.

The Spurs would give Kyrie the best chance to win immediately out of the four teams he listed. They are already one of the best teams in the NBA without him, and adding his elite talent would potentially put them on equal footing with the Golden State Warriors. Irving would be able to play alongside Kawhi Leonard, one of the league’s best two-way players. Perhaps more importantly, he would be under the direction of Gregg Popovich, arguably the greatest coach the NBA has ever seen.

The Cavaliers would also potentially be able to gain something from Irving moving to San Antonio. For one, moving Irving to the Spurs would further tip the balance of NBA power to the Western conference.

If Kyrie played in San Antonio, the Cavs would be the only team in the East with a top 15 player, at least by ESPN’s ratings. If the Cavs making the NBA Finals wasn’t a near formality already, it would be if Kyrie played in the West.
