This move will also answer the question as to if LeBron can win consistently in the Western Conference.
He could permanently destroy the idea of having to face off against the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals and further damaging his Finals record.
It also leaves the Eastern Conference WIDE OPEN with the exception of the Boston Celtics, who would easily become the best team if LeBron James went to the Western Conference. Teams may even bring some talent over from the Western Conference to help solidify their franchise as a force to be reckoned with.

Yet, no one can really be mad at him for venturing on to better opportunities.
James did return to Cleveland and win a championship after everyone thought he had forgotten about and turned his back on. Especially after transforming the league into the semi-positionless it is now by playing such a versatile role on the first superteam of the decade.
