The Cleveland Cavaliers ended their summer league with a disappointing loss to Lonzo Ball and the Lakers but not before they went 3-0 in the tourney prelims.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, for the most part, had a dominant summer league. They crushed the Bucks by 29, were taken to OT but beat the Rockets by 5, and then again dominated, beating the Warriors by 17.

It was a rough ending for the Cavaliers. They were torn up by Lonzo Ball, just like the 76ers were the night before. Lonzo had 36 points and 11 assists against the 76ers, and he continued that with a triple double, 16 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds, against the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers did get one more game against the Raptors in which they won by 3.

All-in-all, the Cleveland Cavaliers summer league performance left us begging for more. The only well-known players for the Cavaliers were the 54th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, Key Felder, and Edy Tavares, the 7-foot-3 goliath that the Cavaliers picked up last season for his rim protecting prowess.

While several may receive an invite to training camp, there isn’t much hope for the majority to crack the roster since the Cavaliers have loaded their roster with veterans. Nonetheless, it was great to see some of these young guys playing their hearts out.

With that said, let’s take a look at some notable takeaways from the summer league.
