LeBron says he has never played on a super team blew up on the internet. “What was Miami and what is Cleveland?” was the retort that the LeBron detractors banded around. To be frank the Golden State Warriors are giants to these teams. The Warriors are the new standard bearer for the super team. This NBA offseason is a reaction to the Golden State Warriors. A team with four potential hall of famers all in their prime should win at least three NBA championships. This super team is very difficult to beat as their recent thrashing of the Cavaliers super team demonstrated.

In order to beat them then you will have to assemble a team that can be competitive against them. Any other approach is likely to be an exercise in futility. Cleveland has the best player in the game and he had a superb season and yet the Warriors are NBA champions.

The formation of a balanced super team that isn’t top heavy is the best option for beating the Warriors. This super team must also play above average defense and at the very least have a defensive ace. A super team comprising of LeBron, Paul George, Demarcus Cousins, Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball checks all these boxes.
