Better chance at success

The Cavaliers have been to three straight NBA Finals. Their best player, LeBron James, has been to seven in a row. LeBron, and now the Cavs, have had a stranglehold on the Eastern Conference for the better part of a decade.

Why wouldn’t Carmelo, a player who has never played in the Finals, want to be a part of that? By joining the Cavaliers, Anthony would potentially be playing alongside three other all-stars in James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. In Houston, he would be partnered with only two in Chris Paul and James Harden.

Joining the Cavaliers would also keep Carmelo in the Eastern conference and perhaps more importantly, away from the Golden State Warriors. If Anthony joins the Rockets, they would likely need to beat Golden State to even make the Finals, which is no small feat.
