Following Wednesday’s blockbuster Chris Paul trade, Carmelo Anthony’s name has once again come up on the rumor mill. The Rockets reportedly have interest in Anthony, but another destination may prove to be more fruitful for his championship pursuits.

Carmelo Anthony has been the subject of rumors regarding a trade for several months. Multiple teams have reportedly inquired about the New York Knicks star, but a combination of factors has prevented a deal from taking place.

For one, Anthony has a no-trade clause with the Knicks, meaning that any deal must be approved by him before it happens. The Knicks could simply buy Carmelo out of his contract, enabling him to sign with a team of his choice as a free agent, but according to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the team would rather trade him.

On Thursday, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith reported that Anthony would be willing to accept one of two options:

With this news, Anthony’s potential landing spot becomes slightly clearer. If sources are to be believed, he will either be suiting up as a Cleveland Cavalier or Houston Rocket next season.
