Potential Trade: Cleveland Cavaliers’ Iman Shumpert and Cedi Osman for Houston Rockets’ Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams

It is not often one stumbles upon a mutually beneficial, financially stable trade in today’s NBA. But, if the Cavaliers were to deal Shumpert to the Rockets in exchange for Beverley and Williams, both front offices would be highly praised.

As of very recently, the Houston Rockets are looking to part ways with PG Patrick Beverley and SG Lou Williams in an effort to clear cap space.  Williams’ initial reaction is below:

Beverley said this in response to Williams:

Both are speechless about their suddenly impending early departure with the Rockets.

Houston is preparing for a potential run at one of the big names in NBA free agency this summer, and need to create more flexibility to do so.  The optimal window to trade for these players could be closing quickly, as the NBA Draft approaches.
