2017 NBA Mock Draft — 3.0: Can Ball possibly drop out of the top 5?
By Simon Hannig
2.) Los Angeles Lakers — Josh Jackson, Kansas — Small Forward
With the trade, wouldn’t Magic Johnson love to screw with Danny Ainge and take Josh Jackson, who the Celtics reportedly want with the number three pick?
I can see it happening. Besides all of that, Jackson fits with what the Lakers are building. Jackson fits perfectly with the scoring machine in Brandon Ingram. Jackson is a defensive three and this is exactly what they are looking for. Jackson averaged 16.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.1 blocks per game in 30.8 minutes for Kansas.
The only red flag is that the Lakers did just deal D’Angelo Russell to the Nets. They lost one of their upcoming point guards and that could be a sign of the Ball era in LA. Jackson will most likely be the better player and is definitely the better prospect.
