Pick No. 8: Jonathan Isaac

Jonathan Isaac is a big, 6-foot-10 forward that can stretch the floor and handle the ball. It’s hard to compare Isaac to KD because at this point he is not even close to as versatile of a scorer or defender, but his body style and skill set are similar.

Isaac didn’t show too much at FSU. He scored just 12 points per game for the Seminoles in his only year, but his potential is enough to make him even a top 5 pick. Isaac can play both the three and the four, so he might be the perfect fit for the New York Knicks. The skill set that Isaac brings makes him coveted, but his unproven abilities could turn some teams with a more already set, young core off. Some drafts have Isaac as high as five, but I think his risk pushes him down quite a bit.

The Knicks, who might be able to sign Jrue Holiday in free agency, would have a solid, young core if they could match Isaac with Porzingis down low. The modern-day NBA fanatics might drool over the possibility of an Isaac-Porzingis frontcourt. They could spread the floor like none other, and the Knicks might even be able to find another solid pick if they trade away Melo.

Issac could replace Melo and give the Knicks something to believe in again.
