NBA Mock Draft: Are Lonzo to LA and Jackson to Boston locks?
Pick No. 1: Markelle Fultz
At this point, it would shock the NBA world if Markelle Fultz didn’t go No. 1 overall. He has the chance to completely change any franchise with his scoring and ball-handling abilities. Fultz is the best guard in the draft, and with the way that the modern NBA is shifting, the need for quality guards is at an all-time high.
Fultz played 25 games for Washington this season, and he averaged 23.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.9 assists. The 6-foot-4 point guard has all the intangibles in order to be an NBA stud. While his defense is lacking, Fultz makes that up with his size and shooting, averaging 2.3 triples per game with the Huskies. Obviously Philly wouldn’t have traded up already if they didn’t see greatness in this young guy.
For Philadelphia, the process is over and the future is here. Fultz seemed to shine in his workout, and he has shown enough superstar potential to cause the 76ers to fully buy in. This team will be fun, and this pick is a no-brainer for any GM.
