Pick No. 14: Jarrett Allen

Jarrett Allen, in my opinion, will slip some in this draft. The convention center is not a coveted position in the NBA anymore.

Although former Longhorn Myles Turner, who is built and plays just like Allen, did have similar and even a bit worse numbers (3.3 fewer points and 2.0 fewer rebounds per game) in college still went 11th overall in the 2015 draft. Allen is a dominant force, but his free shooting will be a concern. At Texas, he shot just 56.4% from the line.

The Heat already have Hassan Whiteside, but allowing Allen to come off the bench would give coach Spoelstra some rim-protecting options. Being able to learn from one of the best success stories in the NBA would be great for a young rookie.

The Heat will have their hands full with fine-tuning Allen, but with his strength, he could be a monster down low in the NBA. Obviously, they know how to develop a center too.
