NBA Mock Draft: Are Lonzo to LA and Jackson to Boston locks?
Pick No. 11: Luke Kennard
Luke Kennard would play perfectly alongside Kemba Walkers. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard has a magic touch from outside. His shot is his most useful weapon. In his second season at Duke, Kennard dominated averaging 19.5 points per game and making 2.5 threes per game in the ACC, the NCAA’s most challenging conference.
According to ESPN’s Hornets’ depth chart, Nic Batum is their starting shooting guard followed by Marco Belinelli. With Kennard, Batum could slide back over to his original small forward position, and Kennard could smoothly come off the bench as the main scoring threat.
While his defense is not top-notch, Kennard will have plenty of time to develop on that end of the court. It’s not every year that you can get a dynamic scoring threat like this with the 11th selection, so Charlotte could look to steal the dynamic Blue Devil.
